The Song and Dance of Dzamling Gar, February 20 – March 13

The Song and Dance of Dzamling Gar

Online with Adriana Dal Borgo and local instructors onsite
February 20th - March 13th

Dear friends,

We are happy to invite you to an upcoming online course on Dzamling Gar Song & Dance!

The song Dzamling Gar was composed by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in 2012. It expresses in a poetic way the principles of the Dzogchen Teaching and shows us how understanding and applying them in daily life is a gateway to evolution and peace in the whole world.

Steps, movements and the choreography of the dance harmoniously accompany the words and are as well symbolically expressing its essential meaning. (Read more)

With Adriana Dal Borgo we will discover the history of the song and dance creation and learn the steps and movements. Local instructors in various countries will help to learn the steps onsite (detailed information will follow).

The course will start on February 20, and continue on every Thursday until March 13, at 6:00 PM CET.

If you can’t attend the sessions, recordings will be available.

The course will be in English with possibility to organise translation into other languages. Please specify the language you need in the registration form!

The donation for the course will be according to the generosity principle

Your generosity will make possible the participation in the course for people with financial difficulties, and support the current projects of Khaita Joyful Dances such as:

Khaita course in Venice, October 21-22

Khaita Course in Venice, October 21-22

𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚!

with Adriana Dal Borgo

This class is suitable for everyone: we will find out what Khaita Joyful Dances are, learn together the basic steps and some simple circle dances.
Khaita means “Harmony in Space”: the goal is to promote harmony through dance, in the individual, in the group and also with the environment around us.

The Khaita Dances were developed by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu together with his students based on modern songs performed by young Tibetan artists.

These dances are engaging and easy to learn. Requiring no special skills, they are suitable for people of all ages and even those unfamiliar with music and dance.

The choreographies, based on interaction and recognition of one’s own and others’ space, promote openness to others and collaboration. They entertain, strengthen the body and educate to move in harmony in space and time.
Joyful Khaita Dances are a great way to relax from the tensions of daily life.

On the course among other dances will learnt Tashi Monlam བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྨོན་ལམ། Invocation of Fortune, one of Tashi, offering dances, which involve invocation of fortune, long life, prosperity and happiness for all beings, harmonize inner and outer elements and were recommended by Rinpoche as a practice of dedication of merits.

“…May fortune and happiness come about!
With no illness afflicting the body,
With no suffering arising in the mind,
May relatives and friends join together and live happily
And the fortune of realizing one’s desires come about!
… With a capacity shining forth like the sun and moon,
With an ocean of merit twirling abundantly,
With the length of human life flowing continuously like a river,
May the fortune of the fulfillment of all wishes come about!
… While the elements do not exist as enemies,
While the environment does not become impoverished,
May beings and nature live in peace and harmony!
And the fortune of increasing happiness come about!”

– from Tashi Monlam
